Registration is open for the PTAB/NCDD 2-Day Course on OAIS at Koninklijke Bibliotheek (Dutch National Library), Den Haag, The Netherlands 23-24 March 2016 conducted by the chair of authors of this standard and world expert in digital preservation. The cost is €800, with a discounted rate of €500 for NCDD members. The course is divided into modules, each of which consists of a presentation, practical exercises and discussion.
We have been asked to hold this course as it has become evident that those with little knowledge of digital preservation struggle with the complexities of the higher level courses and we have therefore developed a 2-day course on OAIS covering all the basics of digital preservation, enabling students to develop their knowledge and put these practices in place before moving on to the more comprehensive 5-day course in preparation for accreditation of their repositories.
It is also evident that there are misunderstandings and misinterpretations about OAIS; attending the course will help to de-mystify these.
The course will take place at Koninklijke Bibliotheek (Dutch National Library), Den Haag, The Netherlands 23-24 March 2016.
